Terms of Use

HelpAroundtheHouse.ca ("the Site") is a custom made website for the use of Registered Site Members provided by HelpAroundtheHouse Inc. ("HelpAroundtheHouse"). To be a Registered Site Member you have to register on HelpAroundTheHouse.ca. Where we use the word "you" in this document it refers to Helpers, Homeowners, job seekers or any visitor to the Site. "Information" means any information on the Site about Registered Site Members provided by themselves or any third parties and any advertisements.

You must accept our Terms and Conditions to proceed. Please read our Terms and Conditions carefully and we require that you accept them before using the services on the Site. Your acceptance constitutes an agreement between HelpAroundtheHouse and you. HelpAroundtheHouse may modify or update these Terms and Conditions so it is important to visit our Site regularly, and even if you decide not to register as a Site Member, your use of our Site will still be governed by these Terms and Conditions.

HelpAroundTheHouse.ca is a noticeboard or bulletin board where you can search for Helpers online or notify Homeowners of your availability to help.

You must be a Registered Site Member to use our services. To register online please accept our Terms and Conditions and acknowledge our privacy statement.

Helpers who advertise their availability on our Site are not employed by us, neither are they our contractors and we are not their agents. We are also not agents for Homeowners. We offer people the opportunity to make contact with Helpers and Homeowners.

To see Helpers' information you must be a Registered Member, but visitors who are not Registered Members may be able to see Helpers' first names and cities of residence. This is at the discretion of the Helper.

What do we expect of you?

In order for all Registered Site Members to enjoy the benefits of our Site, we require that you refrain from any actions that may interfere with other Registered Site Members, such as:

• using our system to send SPAM;
• accessing data which is clearly not intended for you;
• trying to log into an account that you are not authorised to access;
• disrupting our service by interfering with our server or network by denial of service attack (DOS), spamming, or otherwise engage in conduct that causes a potential or actual nuisance to Registered Site Members; and
• sending incorrect information to our Site or in an email, including TCP/IP packet information.

Our Site Members participate in our Site community and we expect that you conduct yourself in the spirit of the community. Please refrain from posting, transmitting, saving or distributing any information or material that is or may be construed to:

• be false, inaccurate or misleading;
• be fraudulent;
• infringe on others' privacy or intellectual or other proprietary rights;
• be illegal;
• be obscene, defamatory, libellous, threatening, or intimidating;
• contain any viruses, Trojan horses, worms or other computer programming routines that may damage, modify, delete, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept, access without authority or expropriate any system, data or personal information;
• create liability for us or cause us to lose (in whole or in part) the services of our ISPs, Web hosting company, or other suppliers; or
• reate an unauthorised link to another website. HelpAroundtheHouse reserves the right to edit, refuse to post, or remove any information or material it deems inappropriate.

When you register you accept certain risk and you release us from liability Dealing with people you have not met before and using information provided by them on our Site poses certain risks and by registering here and using our Site you accept those risks. HelpAroundtheHouse does not create any of the information that appears on this Site and we therefore do not accept responsibility for the content. Registered Site Members acknowledge that we do not have any control over the quality, safety or standards of opportunities advertised here, nor can we vouch for the truth and accuracy of the information contained or displayed on the Site.

HelpAroundtheHouse will have no responsibility for actual transactions between Registered Site Members. Any negotiations, agreements or disputes between Registered Site Members are between the individual members and we are not and never will be a party to those contracts, negotiations or disputes.

By registering on our Site or using our Site you release HelpAroundtheHouse and any of the members, directors, employees or contractors, or any individuals associated with us from any claims or demands or damages of whatsoever nature arising directly or indirectly out of negligent or other acts or omissions of Registered Site Members connected in anyway to services supplied by HelpAroundtheHouse, your reliance upon information on our Site or in any other way connected to your use of our Site.

We rely on International and Canadian intellectual property laws and Information and other content on the Site is protected by copyright. You may copy or download material off this Site for your personal use but not for commercial or public purposes. We do not give permission for this Site to be reproduced and you will require our written consent to create a link to this Site.

We provide a number of links to third party sites merely for your convenience and a link does not imply an endorsement from us. If you access any other internet site through a link from our Site you do so at your own risk and HelpAroundtheHouse does not accept responsibility for the accuracy or reliability of any information, data, opinions, advice or statements made on those sites.

We do not do background checks on advertisers, nor do we verify the correctness or validity of claims made by advertisers.

Your use of this Site will be governed by and construed pursuant to the laws of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein and you agree to submit to such jurisdiction.

Failure at any time by HelpAroundtheHouse to enforce any provisions of these Terms and Conditions or any of its rights will not constitute a waiver of the provisions or HelpAroundtheHouse's rights and will not render these Terms and Conditions invalid.

If any clause or part of a clause of these Terms and Conditions is invalid, illegal, unlawful or otherwise incapable of enforcement, that clause or part of a clause will be deemed to be severed and of no force and effect but all other clauses and parts of clauses of these Terms and Conditions will nevertheless prevail and remain in full force and effect and be valid and fully enforceable. No clause or part of a clause of these Terms and Conditions will be construed to be dependent upon any other clause or part of a clause unless so expressed.

HelpAroundtheHouse may terminate your Registered Site Membership at any time in its absolute discretion by giving written notice (via your registered email address) of termination to you.
